EMMY® AWARDS GALA HOST
In any walk of celebrity life, to be known only by your first name is a feat in itself (think Elvis, Kylie etc.) Godfrey is one of those remarkable people. He’s a comedian and actor with a stunning resume that encompasses stand-up comedy, film, TV, podcasts, etc. It’s for his stand-up work that he’s probably most well-known, with regular appearances at New York’s Comedy Cellar.
Godfrey C. Danchimah Jr (to give him his full name) was born in Nebraska but grew up in Chicago and studied at the Univ. of Illinois.
His background is diverse. He’s been on BET, VH1, Comedy Central, and in feature films, such as Soul Plane, Zoolander, and Johnson Family Vacation. He also hosted his own, well-received one-hour TV special, Godfrey: Black by Accident .

Missing Name on EMMY® entry?
To add a name after nominations on September 19th, a written application is required and the fee is $90 per change and per name. Changes must be submitted by 11:59 on Friday, September 29th. According to the rules, the Chicago/Midwest Chapter will permit NO changes in the listing of entrants after 10 days following the Nominations announcement and after the announcement of recipients. There are no exceptions to this rule. Again, absolutely no names can be added to entries once Regional Emmy® Awards are announced.
