Kristen Toomey’s comedy career began in Chicago in 2008 and since then she’s become a beloved fixture on the city’s stand-up scene. Her commanding stage presence and energetic, expressive, truthful style of comedy are just a few of the reasons she was named “Best Chicago Comedian” for the second time in 2025 and The A.V. Club called her “a Chicago original.” Her 2019 debut comedy album reached #1 on iTunes, her “Modern Parenting” clip has 21MM views on Instagram, and she will be releasing her debut comedy special, “Shriller” later this year. She’s appeared on Comedy in Color on Peacock, Don’t Tell Comedy, and NBC’s Chicago Med, and she can be seen headlining clubs and festivals all over North America.

To add a name after nominations from the period of September 12th through September 22nd, a written application is required and the Fee is $95. If you want to add a name to your entry, login into Emmy Express and add names there and also fill out the form in the link below and LIST IN DETAIL WHAT ROLE THIS PERSON PLAYED IN PRODUCTION AND WHY YOU ARE ADDING THIS NAME SO LATE IN THE PROCESS.
If you are adding a name to an entry that already has 5 entrants listed, there is a $25 fee for each name added ($40 for non-members) in addition to the $95 fee. The additional names must be approved by the Emmy® Judging and Rules committee before they can be added. Absolutely no names can be added to entries once Regional Emmy® Awards are announceD.
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences assumes no responsibility for the acts or omissions of those individuals or entities submitting entries pursuant to this notice. All submitting entities and/or individuals are advised to review submissions with respect to correct name credits and other information. NATAS shall accept all submissions that are not in conflict with any of its rules and regulations. The Chapter may impose additional fees for changes or corrections requested after the submission deadline. Once a Chapter’s award nominations are announced, there is a 10-calendar day grace period in which names, under extreme, special circumstances, can be added to a nominated entry. These requests should be authorized in writing to the Chapter from the person who submitted the entry or one of the entry nominees requesting this addition and detailing why this request should be granted. At a minimum, the appeal must include why the person was not originally listed on the entry AND what significant contributions that person made. An individual may petition the Chapter directly if the situation warrants. The Chapter’s Awards Committee will make the final decision and ruling. Once the Emmy® Awards ceremony has concluded, NO individual names can be added to an awarded entry as an additional recipient, under any circumstances.
