Summer Social – Cantina, 46 E. Superior St., Chicago – Guests enjoyed complimentary appetizers and sipped on specially-designed cocktails like Emmytinis and the TV Tequila Smash. The appetizer buffet by Chef Servando Carmargo included shrimp and fish tacos, braised short rib nachos, mini tamales and much more!
Holiday Party – House of Blues – An intimate event, it was perfect for getting to know your fellow television professional.
Membership Party – Greektown – Guests networked, noshed, and met new and old friends. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres were provided.
ON TV/OFF TV Gallery Opening – Packer Schopf Gallery presented an important artistic and social event to cap off Chicago’s fall art season. Ann Ponce and Maria Ponce collaborated for ON TV/OFF TV, two intertwined yet distinct solo shows. These two artists explore the identities of television anchors, reporters, and journalists, after the cameras have been turned off. The paired bodies of work challenge the roles we create for these celebrities and news personalities. Linda Yu, Mark Suppelsa, Warner Saunders, Alison Rosati, and Kathy Brock, are just a few of the names we will drop… who are subjects in the exhibition. Event tickets and a percentage of opening night sales were donated to the NATAS Chicago Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity and the scholarship arm of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the NATAS.
