MORE THAN THE EMMY AWARDS
The Chicago/Midwest Chapter hosts a number of events throughout the year.
- Workshops – Learn about new technologies, terminology, and techniques from your colleagues. Most of our events, including Career Day, are free to members.
- Exclusive Invitations to Industry Professional Lectures – Listen to industry legends tell their stories at private luncheons not open to the public. Guests have included Douglas Brinkley, Tom Brokaw, Jim Lehrer, Ken Burns, and Susan Lucci.
- Silver Circle Honors Program – Each year, the Chicago/Midwest Chapter recognizes outstanding individuals who have devoted 25 years or more to the television industry.
- Networking Opportunities – Attend our annual Emmy nominations party and other social gatherings to meet members from all areas of the television industry. Look for more “Networking Socials” in 2013.
- Members receive two FREE passes for many preview screenings of major motion pictures – These screenings include Oscar-nominated films, plus invitations to events where talent and directors are present. Films shown in 2012-2013 included: Side Effects; The Perks of Being a Wallflower; Hit and Run; Beasts of the Southern Wild; Safety Guaranteed; A Late Quartet; Salmon Fishing in the Yemen; and Ruby Sparks. Over 20 films were screened last year with a value in excess of $400.
