MORE THAN THE EMMY AWARDS

The Chicago/Midwest Chapter hosts a number of events throughout the year.

  • Silver Circle Honors Program - Each year, the Chicago/Midwest Chapter recognizes outstanding individuals who have devoted 25 years or more to the television industry
  • Workshops – Learn about new technologies, terminology, and techniques from your colleagues. Most of our events, including Career Day, are free to members.
  • Exclusive Invitations to Industry Professional Lectures – Listen to industry legends tell their stories at private luncheons not open to the public. Guests have included Marlo Thomas, Jane Pauley, Marlo Thomas, Phil Jackson, Douglas Brinkley, Tom Brokaw, Jim Lehrer, Ken Burns, and Susan Lucci.
  • Networking Opportunities – Attend our annual Emmy nominations party and other social gatherings to meet members from all areas of the television industry. Look for more “Networking Socials” in 2013.
  • Members receive two FREE passes for many preview screenings of major motion pictures – These screenings include Oscar-nominated films, plus invitations to events where talent and directors are present. Films shown in 2012-2013 included: Side Effects; The Perks of Being a Wallflower; Hit and Run; Beasts of the Southern Wild; Safety Guaranteed; A Late Quartet; Salmon Fishing in the Yemen; and Ruby Sparks. Over 20 films were screened last year with a value in excess of $400.
